The Municipality of Lagoa promotes Senior Month 📅👵👴 throughout October, featuring a series of activities aimed specifically at our seniors to celebrate International Day of Older Persons.

The various initiatives aim to engage senior citizens, promoting active and healthy ageing through activities that enhance physical and mental well-being.

International Day of Older Persons, observed on 1 October, is a symbolic date that highlights population ageing, dignity, rights, and the contributions of older people to society.

More than just celebrating International Day of Older Persons, the Municipality of Lagoa aims to celebrate Senior Month throughout October. This is a coordinated set of initiatives focusing on health, culture, civic participation, leisure, and intergenerational activities that promote active ageing, reduce isolation, and strengthen the sense of belonging and social utility. A well-designed Senior Month transforms the celebration into a continuous cycle of opportunities.

Thus, 1 October serves as a starting point and a symbolic anchor, while the monthly programme ensures real impact, sustained visibility, and a change in perceptions.

Join us for a lively celebration with music and dance from the 1960s, along with a shared snack for all attendees.
