Algiers, 1938. Meursault, a calm and modest employee in his thirties, attends his mother's funeral without shedding a tear. The next day, he begins a casual relationship with Marie, a co-worker. He quickly returns to his usual routine. However, his daily life is about to be disturbed by his neighbor, Raymond Sintès, who draws Meursault into his shady dealings. Until, on a scorching day, a tragic event occurs on a beach... Film from the official selection of the Venice Film Festival 2025, in competition. Premiere in Portugal on March 12, 2026. Based on the novel by Albert Camus (© Editions Gallimard, 1942), one of the most significant works of 20th-century literature, this film transports us to Algiers in 1938.
