The exhibition "Lime Eye" by artist Jorge Pereira is part of the 3rd Edition of "Chão Nosso", an initiative promoted by O Corvo and the Raposa Cultural Association.
Chão Nosso connects the project to this specific territory, literally to the “ground” where the proposals of this initiative take place. It aims to understand and showcase the geological nature of Vila do Bispo, translating, highlighting, and narrating the territory we traverse, bringing a different reading and experience to those who live in it and those who enjoy it. In 2026, the project was themed around lime – a material originating from the limestone stones of the vein that runs through the Algarve. Once, it was cooked in special ovens for ten days and nights until transformed into lime stones, which would then be slaked, becoming the base for whitewashing walls. Fire, water, and air are part of the transformation process of this element, once essential for the construction, decoration, and identity of houses.
The initiative is supported by the Vila do Bispo Municipal Council.
