In compliance with Decree-Law No. 82/2021, of October 13.

Protection zone up to 50 meters around the house

From 0 to 2 meters

No vegetation allowed.

There should be no type of vegetation.

From 2 to 10 meters

Only some trees.

The minimum distance between the tree and the house is 5 meters.

From 10 to 50 meters

Trees and shrubs.

The minimum distance between the crowns of the trees is 4 meters.

Trees must be pruned to 50% of their height or up to 4 meters, in the case of trees taller than 8 meters.

Illustrative scheme of the total protection zone around the house of 50 meters, composed of three representative circles:

• Zone from 0 to 2 meters
• Zone from 2 to 10 meters
• Zone from 10 to 50 meters

General rules

• The use of fire for land cleaning is prohibited
• Waste resulting from cleaning must be removed and directed to an appropriate destination
• The cleaning and maintenance of the land is the responsibility of the owners, tenants, or usufructuaries
• Non-compliance may constitute an offense, subject to a fine
