Commemoration of the Municipal Day for Equality

From 12 October 2026 to 24 October 2026 at the Vila do Bispo Cultural Centre.

As part of the celebrations for the Municipal Day for Equality, the Vila do Bispo Council is hosting the workshops «(Des)Igualdades» on 24 October at 14:30 in the Auditorium of the Vila do Bispo Cultural Centre.

This initiative includes informative activities, awareness-raising actions, and participatory dynamics on topics such as gender equality, domestic violence, healthy dating, migration, mental health, and the safety of the elderly, with a particular focus on preventing scams.

The sessions will be led by representatives from various organisations, including the National Republican Guard (GNR), the Commission for the Protection of Children and Young People (CPCJ) of Vila do Bispo, the University of Algarve (UALG), the health sector, and GAVA/Taipa, providing opportunities for reflection and knowledge sharing on these topics.

The participation of these entities aims to enhance information and raise awareness in the community, promoting a more inclusive, safe, and discrimination-free society.

21:30 - «Vou-te³» An interactive stand-up show by Sincera Mente, a drag queen and comedian, at the Clésio Ricardo Pavilion in Sagres.

Tickets and purchase conditions: Tickets will be on sale from 19 October, through Ticketline and at the Treasury of the Vila do Bispo Council.

On the day of the performance, tickets will also be available for purchase on-site, between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM, subject to availability.

Senior citizens aged 65 and over, as well as employees of the Vila do Bispo council, receive a 50% discount on ticket prices. To benefit from this discount, tickets must be purchased in person at the council's treasury by Friday, 23 October.

These initiatives are part of the Municipal Plan for Equality and Non-Discrimination in Vila do Bispo, reinforcing the council's commitment to promoting equal opportunities, respecting diversity, and preventing all forms of discrimination and violence.
