The temporary photography exhibition "Our Beaches in the Last 40 Years" is now open to the public at the Sagres Lota Interpretation Center, located at Porto da Baleeira, and can be visited until August 31.
Composed of 21 images, including reproductions of photographs and illustrated postcards provided by the local community, the exhibition invites visitors to discover the evolution of some of the beaches in the municipality of Vila do Bispo that currently hold the Blue Flag 2026 award.
The beaches of Burgau, Salema, Castelejo, Cordoama, Mareta, Martinhal, and Tonel reveal, through moments captured in photography, details, memories, and landscapes that testify to their evolution over the last decades. These records also highlight the increasing recognition of the municipality's beaches as a reference tourist destination, especially since the 70s/80s.
This initiative is organized by the Vila do Bispo Municipal Chamber, as part of the Blue Flag 2026 Program – Environmental Education Activities, this year dedicated to the theme "Environmental Capsule: 40 Years of Blue Flag".
