On 23 October, at 6:30pm, the Municipal Library of Lagoa will host the presentation of the book Samuel by Sofia Brito. The book will be presented by Maria Helena do Carmo and entry is free!
Samuel is Sofia Brito's latest work, a writer from Albufeira. It is a vibrant and kaleidoscopic journey that takes us through the world, dreams, and desires of Samuel, word by word.
It serves as a metaphor for initiation and personal growth. Like life itself, which unfolds from place to place, experience to experience, becoming a life constructed of flesh and blood.
The writing is fluid and spontaneous, characteristic of a narrative told in the flow of events and places that succeed one another rapidly and almost minute by minute. The images are strong, filled with emotion, revealing what happens in the body, mind, and heart of a boy who rarely turns away from the challenges the road presents.
