TERRA | One-Day Retreat for Women in the Algarve
I invite you to spend a day with me, away from the usual pace and closer to the body, nature, and what brings us back to the essentials.
The Earth is not just an element; it is home, matter, food, and support. It is the place where spirituality takes form and where life happens, and the body is our first experience of this Earth. It is through our bodies that we feel, love, listen, touch, receive, and relate to the world.
TERRA is a day to remember what it means to inhabit the body.
We live in a culture that has accustomed us to constantly respond to the outside world. We care, we work, we produce, we consume, we anticipate what is lacking, and we move on to the next thing. We have become very capable of continuing, even when we are no longer truly listening. This meeting proposes a different rhythm.
A day to reclaim space to feel, breathe, move, rest, nourish, and connect with nature. To pay attention to the signals of the body and recognise what we need before reaching our limits.
This event aims to revive practices that have been part of women's lives for generations: gathering, preparing and sharing food, caring for the body, connecting with the Earth, moving, resting, celebrating transitions, and creating rituals around daily life. Today, many of these actions are referred to as self-care, but for a long time, they were not activities added to life. They were part of the way of living. It is this aspect that I am interested in exploring at TERRA.
A more complete way of being present, where care is no longer just what we do when we are exhausted, and the body returns to a central place in how we live. A place that can also be sacred.
What we will experience
Throughout the day, we will explore somatic practices and body awareness, regulation of the nervous system, conscious breathing, movement and body expression, meditation, silence, contact with nature, sharing, and ritual.
Food will also play an important role. We will share a nutritious lunch, prepared with simple and seasonal ingredients, and we will have time to eat mindfully, without the rush that often accompanies everyday meals.
No prior experience is required. All practices will be offered as invitations, allowing you to respect your own pace, your limits, and what is available to you on that day.
This meeting may be relevant for you if...
Do you feel that you spend too much time in your mind and would like to reconnect with your body?
Have you been living at a demanding pace and feel the need to stop.
You easily care for others, but you don't always recognise what you need yourself.
Do you miss nature, silence, movement, or simply space for yourself?
Or are you curious to explore a form of self-care that is not just about doing more for yourself, but starts with how you listen to and relate to yourself.
The place
TERRA takes place at Quinta da Palmeira Encantada, in Almancil - Algarve, surrounded by nature.
Throughout the day, we will occupy the Zen House and the outdoor spaces of the estate, alternating between body practices, movement, silence, nourishment, sharing, and time in nature.
I chose this place because I wanted the Earth to be not just the theme of the meeting, but a real presence throughout the day.

Facilitation
Sónia Dias Integrative Therapist, author and founder of Orinam.
For over a decade, I have studied and explored the relationship between body, health, emotions, and consciousness. My work intersects personal development, somatic work, the nervous system, macrobiotics, meditation, movement, and practices of presence.
TERRA brings together many of these dimensions and also arises from a question that runs through my own path and the work I develop:
How would our lives change if taking care of our bodies became a regular part of how we live?
