Poetry Recital – 'Women Who Wrote and I Did Not Read'

Five women, five literary journeys waiting to be discovered. Lutegarda Guimarães de Caires, Maria Veleda, Nita Lupi, Maria Antonieta Júdice Barbosa, and Diamantina Negrão are at the heart of this performative poetry show that blends live poetry, contemporary original music, and biographical notes in voice-over.

Focusing on authors from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, this creation highlights their writings and life stories, reclaiming their place in the cultural memory of the region. It is a meeting with female voices that remain largely unknown to the public and are part of the literary heritage of the Algarve.
