Deliver Us from Hunger!

The Carlos do Carmo Auditorium in Lagoa hosts the play Deliver Us from Hunger!, by AGON, with performances on 23 November at 19:00.
Deliver Us from Hunger! draws a parallel between the pre-25 April period and the present day, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Madeira's autonomy.
Using the theatrical resource of satirical, comedic, and absurd sketches, the performance aims to confront a historical period marked by a thirst for freedom against the current time, where the growing glorification of extremism swallows that same freedom.
Also incorporating original live music, the sketches inspired by twenty-one Madeiran delicacies address Hunger in both its literal and metaphorical senses, linking it to greed and ambition. Deliver Us from Hunger! is the final part of the Death Trilogy, inspired by the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, which began in 2022 with Deliver Us from Plague! and continued in 2024 with Deliver Us from War!
Tickets for this session cost 6€ and are already on sale at the Online Ticket Office, and at the usual locations.
