Jazz on the Move

As part of the Algarve All Jazz project, the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium in Lagoa hosts the Photography Exhibition 📸Jazz on the Move🖼️, by Fátima Vargas, which will be on display from 15 October to 30 November. Entry is free.

Launched in 2018 and renewed annually, this visual project gathers images captured during concerts, rehearsals, backstage moments, and creative processes. Through photography, each musical moment transforms into a memory, revealing the energy of the stage, the concentration of the musicians, the camaraderie among artists, and the emotion shared with the audience. Touring across the Algarve, the exhibition reinvents itself at each location - each space adds a new atmosphere and renews the dialogue between jazz, photography, and territory.

With Artistic Direction by Fátima Vargas, Jazz On The Move is a visual journey through the universe of the Algarve Jazz Orchestra that renews itself each year. More than documenting the Orchestra's activities, it seeks to reveal what music leaves in the gaze after the sound ends.

The exhibition can be visited, free of charge, from Tuesday to Saturday between 14:00 and 17:00.
