Vila Real de Santo António will once again welcome thousands of visitors to the Beach Fair.
The traditional Beach Fair returns to Vila Real de Santo António from 8 to 13 October 2026, bringing colour, flavours, and entertainment to the city. The event takes place along Avenida da República, in the wall area and in Praça Marquês de Pombal, attracting thousands of visitors over six days. The 12th of October, a holiday in Spain, is notable for the usual presence of numerous Spanish tourists crossing the border to visit the fair.
The venue offers a wide variety of thematic areas: food and drinks, commerce, home textiles, decoration, handicrafts, clothing, confectionery, amusements, and a zone dedicated to exhibitors and companies, ensuring options for all ages and tastes.
The Beach Fair is one of the oldest and most emblematic traditions of the municipality. Established in 1765 near the sands of Monte Gordo, it was moved in 1774 to the newly founded Vila Real de Santo António, becoming a space for gathering, social dynamism, and an economic driver for the region. More than two centuries later, it continues to mark the cultural and commercial calendar of the municipality, preserving its historical identity and keeping the memory of its origins alive.
