Author of more than thirty books, translated into about twenty languages, writer and journalist Eduardo Galeano (1940-2015) won the International Human Rights Award through the American humanitarian organization Global Exchange in 2006.
His bibliography includes works such as "The Open Veins of Latin America" (1971), where the author analyzes the history of Latin America from colonialism to the 20th century, "Memory of Fire" (1985), a trilogy on the History of the Americas, "The Book of Embraces" (1989), "The Theater of Good and Evil" (2002), and "The Children of the Days" (2012).
