Santos Populares

June brings back the spirit of Santos Populares to the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António, with a program that combines music, tradition, socializing, and popular entertainment in the parishes of Vila Real de Santo António, Monte Gordo, and Vila Nova de Cacela.

Over several weeks, traditional popular fairs will bring life to different points of the municipality, with outdoor dances, musical entertainment, and popular marches that promise to engage the community and visitors in one of the most emblematic times of the year.

The celebrations take place at Praça Marquês de Pombal and in the Hortas, in Vila Real de Santo António, in the western area of Monte Gordo, at Largo Manuel Cabanas, in Vila Nova de Cacela, and at Rua da Nora, in Manta Rota.

In these spaces, popular dances will once again take center stage, bringing music, entertainment, and socializing to residents and visitors throughout the month, with the participation of various artists, musical groups, and popular marches.

With free entry, Santos Populares reaffirms itself as one of the most anticipated moments of the festive calendar of the municipality, promoting socializing, popular culture, and the preservation of local traditions.
