The “Big and Small Workshops – Schools” have been taking place for several years at the Municipal Library and focus on presenting stories to school audiences. This Story Hour is a powerful educational tool that stimulates imagination, develops language skills, and promotes an early love of reading. It also strengthens social bonds, prepares students for literacy, and transforms learning into a playful and interactive experience.
This project has been very successful and is highly sought after by schools. It occurs on the second Wednesday of each month at 10:00 and 11:00, except during school breaks, and is aimed at students from kindergartens and the 1st and 2nd years of primary schools in the parishes of Portimão, Alvor, and Mexilhoeira Grande.
Márcia Gamito, a graduate in Sociocultural Animation, is passionate about the world of children and stories. She engages both young and old in books and stories in a playful manner. Each book and story holds a world to share!
