Choque Frontal Live - September-December 2026

The radio programme Choque Frontal Live from Rádio Alvor FM returns to the Municipal Theatre of Portimão (TEMPO) for a new season of live recordings, promising to bring together music, conversations, and moments of conviviality between artists and the audience.

The new season kicks off on 17 September at 21:00 with a performance by singer-songwriter Mimicat, running until 17 December, in a programme that reaffirms the show as one of the most original radio formats south of the Tagus.

Opening the new cycle will be Mimicat, one of the most prominent voices in contemporary Portuguese music. A singer, songwriter, and performer, she gained recognition by winning the 2023 Festival da Canção with the song "Ai Coração", representing Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest. In 2025, she began a new artistic phase inspired by Portuguese music from the 1960s and 1970s, blending influences from fado and contemporary pop, including songs like "Agostinho", "Santa", "A Minha Gente", and the duet "Tipicamente Casados" with Ana Bacalhau.

On 15 October, Rogério Charraz, one of the most consistent Portuguese singer-songwriters of his generation, will take the stage. Known for his powerful lyrics and social engagement, he has released several critically acclaimed albums and developed conceptual projects such as Reunião de Condomínio and Anónimos de Abril, establishing himself as one of the most relevant voices in Portuguese author music.

On 19 November, the AL Guitar Duo, formed by guitarists André Ramos and Luís Fialho, will perform. The project is distinguished by its fusion of virtuosity, emotion, and different musical languages, presenting the album Reencontro, which features influences from Latin music, jazz, and Portuguese tradition, in a show that promises to surprise with its interpretative quality and on-stage chemistry.

The season will conclude on 17 December with the Cranky Geeks, an Algarve alternative rock band presenting their latest album, Alice. Inspired by the universe of Lewis Carroll, the album reflects on identity, freedom, and contemporary society through an intense, conceptual, and emotional performance that marks a new stage in the group's career.

Throughout the season, Choque Frontal Live will continue to provide an intimate atmosphere where music intersects with relaxed conversations and moments of closeness between artists and the audience. In each session, around 125 spectators will have the opportunity to attend the recordings and interact with the guests.

Produced and presented by Júlio Ferreira and Ricardo Coelho, the programme has established itself as a reference in the programming of Rádio Alvor FM, valuing Portuguese music and creating a privileged space for sharing between artists and listeners.

Recordings take place at 21:00 at the Municipal Theatre of Portimão (TEMPO) and are subsequently broadcast on Rádio Alvor FM. Tickets are free and can be collected at the box office.
