Hidden Gems

A restored village in the Vila do Bispo municipality, with a very unique and distinct vibe. Almost abandoned for years, it has been revitalized as a sustainable tourist village, maintaining traditional architecture and community spirit. The whitewashed houses, dirt streets, and rural surroundings create an atmosphere of authenticity and relaxation that attracts travelers seeking something different.

Viewpoint at the top of the cliff at the northern end of Castelejo Beach, overlooking the beach, the neighboring Cordoama Beach, and the dramatic black schist rock formations. The cliffs in this area are among the highest in the Algarve, and the rugged landscape of the Vicentina Coast is particularly impressive here. Located in the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentina Coast Natural Park, it offers an almost panoramic perspective of the Atlantic Ocean and the wild coast.

Remote, quiet beach far off the main route, on the western Algarve coast. The somewhat challenging access keeps Barriga away from the crowds, rewarding visitors with a wide sandy area, spectacular cliffs, and a deep sense of isolation. It's one of the last truly wild stretches of coastline in the Algarve.

A more secluded beach near Salema, still without much tourist pressure. Framed by cliffs and coastal vegetation, this beach maintains a tranquil and natural environment almost all year round. The sand is golden, the waters are clear, and the feeling of being off the main routes is comforting.

Less known than the nearby Praia do Zavial, Ingrina is usually calmer and more relaxed. The sheltered bay offers calmer waters, ideal for peaceful swimming and snorkeling. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly, away from the crowds of the more popular beaches in the western Algarve.

One of the wildest and least frequented beaches on the Algarve's Costa Vicentina. Murracao is battered by Atlantic winds and waves, with a raw and powerful landscape that contrasts with the southern coastline. The difficult access keeps it in a state of near virginity, ideal for those seeking unspoiled nature.

A remote, very quiet, and little-visited beach on the coast between Salema and Boca do Rio. The natural isolation gives it an atmosphere of almost total serenity. The steep cliffs and wide sandy area create a dramatic and beautiful scene, where the sound of the sea is practically the only sound present.

An isolated beach accessible by dirt road, with an authentic feeling of discovery. The ravine that gives it its name creates an impressive natural frame, with steep cliffs and coastal vegetation. The sand and water are excellent, and isolation is almost guaranteed, especially outside the high season.

Remnants of a watchtower and sentinel post from the 16th century located on the highest cliff along the Algarve coast, about 156 meters above sea level. A white obelisk marks the summit and is visible from a great distance. It was part of the ancient defensive network that controlled navigation and coastal attacks. The panoramic views extend from Cape Saint Vincent and Sagres to the entire Vicentina Coast. One of the most dramatic and least visited viewpoints in the Algarve.
