[PORTUGUÊS] A Ideias do Levante with the support of the Municipality of Lagoa organizes, on July 25 and 26, 2026, the fifteenth edition of "Lagoa a Cantar", part of the LAGOAVOX project, which will take place at CEFLA, in Lagoa (Algarve).

The aim of this event is to provide the local community (and beyond) with various activities related to voice and, in turn, singing.

Saturday, July 25, 2026 10:00-12:00 CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS SINGING - Free workshop, conducted in Portuguese and English, by Maria Saramago, open to children (over 8 years old) and teenagers, with or without musical experience. 15:00-18:00 SINGING FOR AMATEURS AND PROFESSIONALS - Free workshop, conducted in Portuguese and English, led by Carla Pontes, where participants are invited to bring a song and work on their technique and interpretation. Target audience: youth (from 16 years old) and adults with singing experience, amateur or professional.

Sunday, July 26, 2026 10:00-12:00 BODY RHYTHM AND VOCAL IMPROVISATION - Body rhythm and vocal improvisation workshop, using the Circle Singing method (Bobby McFerrin) and Circle Music (Barbatuques). Ideal for musicians, non-musicians, and trainers in the areas of singing, rhythm and dance. This free workshop, conducted in Portuguese and English, by Júnior, is open to all, with or without prior musical experience. 15:00-18:00 INDIAN CLASSICAL SINGING - This experiential workshop conducted in English invites participants to discover the beauty of raga: melodic forms deeply linked to the cycles of day and night, nature, the seasons, and the elements. Participants will also be introduced to rhythmic elements and cycles, exploring how rhythm supports the voice and deepens musical awareness. This free workshop, led by Simona Chalikovaite, is open to all, with or without prior musical experience.

Participants should bring their own drink and comfortable clothing that allows total flexibility of movement. Activities are free but participants will be invited to leave a donation (at their own discretion) to contribute to the project.
