In the street where I live, there are people from all over the world. “People from My Land” is a series of interviews with people who chose Portugal - Lagos to live, aiming to give them a face and a voice. We are all people from the same land, with dreams, desires, fears, and anxieties. As the poem by Amália Rodrigues tells us: "Oh people from my land, now I understand, this sadness I carry, I received from you."

We receive from our land examples and ways of seeing the world, we learn to love and to hate also by carrying some of those beliefs rooted in our culture. And it is necessary to start building bridges instead of walls. Through video art, we hear some excerpts from their interviews, represented by the four elements of the earth: Water (sea): movement, emotions and adaptation; Fire: transformation, energy and courage; Air (sky): breathing, communication and thought; Earth: solidity, structure and stability.
