Private Architectural Visit - Museu Zer0 (1,5h)

The building that houses Museu Zer0 was not only one of Manuel Gomes da Costa's first commissions, but his very graduation project at the Porto School of Architecture. A tall grain silo connected to horizontal processing volumes, its two structures united by a base of open concrete blocks that give the façade a light, almost weightless appearance.

Decades later, this same building has become Portugal's first museum entirely dedicated to digital art. A living workshop without a traditional collection, built around artistic residencies, research and continuous production, rooted in territory, community, memory and innovation.

This visit is not a standard museum tour. We are here for the architecture to read the building through the eyes of architect Victor Hugo Faustino, whose Master's thesis on Manuel Gomes da Costa remains the most comprehensive study of his work to date. Together, we will understand how a young architect's graduation project became, sixty years later, one of the most ambitious cultural projects in the Algarve.

A unique point of convergence between the modernist legacy of Manuel Gomes da Costa and the most forward-looking cultural institution in the region. And a reminder that some architectural gems are worth the journey.

The visit will also include time to discover the museum's current exhibition, a living encounter with the digital art residencies that inhabit this extraordinary building.

By car or Uber/taxi from Faro — approximately 35 minutes. Estimated taxi or Uber fare : €17-20 one way.

There is no direct public transport to Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo. We recommend sharing a ride with other participants .
