Mobile Health Unit - Awareness Actions and Screenings

The Mobile Health Unit of Portimão returns in September to tour the municipality, providing free screenings and awareness actions in the three parishes – Portimão, Alvor, and Mexilhoeira Grande.
Aimed at promoting health and well-being in the community, especially among the senior population and those living in more remote areas, this outreach unit conducts various initiatives monthly dedicated to prevention, health education, and promoting healthy lifestyles.
This month's planned actions include screenings for diabetes, hypertension, and nutrition, as well as awareness sessions in schools focused on preventing risky behaviours among young people.
The Mobile Health Unit is a partnership between the Municipality of Portimão, the Local Health Unit of Algarve (ULS Algarve), the Parish Councils of Portimão, Alvor, and Mexilhoeira Grande, and the Community Care Unit Dunas – ACES Barlavento II.
