With a musical journey linked to the Algarve and Alentejo, Vasco Ramalho and Gonçalo Pescada were pioneers in the development and dissemination of their instruments across various conservatories and music academies in southern Portugal. They currently teach at the University of Évora, where this project originated. Dualités invites the listener on a sound journey guided by the warm sounds of the marimba and the impactful timbres and rhythms of various percussion instruments, enveloped by the nostalgic sound and vibrant harmony of the accordion. The repertoire presented ranges from adaptations of iconic works in the history of Western music such as J. S. Bach's D minor concerto, Toccata and Fugue by J. S. Bach, and Brasileira by Darius Milhaud, to music by Astor Piazzolla and even original works written for this duo.
