SMAL – September Month of Literacy and Literacies

The Municipality of Lagoa once again joins the initiative 🎓September Month of Literacy and Literacies📚, which will take place from 01 to 30 September 2026 across the country, to raise awareness and appeal for social, individual and collective responsibility in combating illiteracy and low literacy levels among the Portuguese.

September is already the reference month for Literacies, making it relevant to raise awareness among the Portuguese about the importance of Reading, Writing and Digital skills in societal life, and this initiative aims to mark International Literacy Day, celebrated on 8 September, the same day Lagoa celebrates its municipal holiday.

Programme:

1. Watercolour Painting Exhibition, “The Pleasure of Learning" by artist Cristina

3. VII Municipal Meeting on Innovation in Education: Sharing Good Practices
