1 session- Seminário “A Doença Oncológica: Um Diagnóstico não é um Destino”
The Auditorium of the Portimão Museum will host the seminar “Oncological Disease: A Diagnosis is Not a Destiny” on September 25, an initiative by the Dar Amor Association, in partnership with ISMAT – Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes, aimed at promoting reflection and knowledge around oncological disease, bringing together specialists from health, physical activity, and education.
Between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM, the meeting will discuss different dimensions associated with prevention, monitoring, and quality of life for people with oncological disease, through scientific panels, expert interventions, and an open debate moment for the public. The president of the Dar Amor Association, Ana Andrés, will also be among the participants.
A diagnosis of oncological disease is often accompanied by feelings of fear, uncertainty, and concern for the future. In light of this reality, the seminar aims to contribute to a broader understanding of the disease, valuing scientific knowledge, physical activity, psychological support, complementary therapies, and support networks as dimensions that can play an important role throughout each person's journey.
The initiative thus proposes a multidisciplinary approach to oncology, bringing together different areas of knowledge and experiences and seeking to demystify ideas, clarify doubts, and present different perspectives on prevention, monitoring, and quality of life in an oncological context.
Directed at students and professionals in health, sports, and education, people with oncological disease, family members, and caregivers, as well as anyone interested in deepening their knowledge about the current reality of oncology, the seminar also includes an open debate space for the public.
Participation is free, subject to prior and mandatory registration at inscricoes.daramor@gmail.com
