Roman Era depicted in Salir
From July 17 to 19, the historic area of Salir will once again step back in time to host another edition of “Salir in Time,” an event that this year recreates the atmosphere of the Roman Era. Over three days, the streets of the village transform into an authentic scene from another time, providing visitors with an immersive experience marked by history, culture, and tradition.
The program includes historical reenactments, performances, theatrical presentations, weapon tournaments, itinerant entertainment, and a Roman market, where artisans and merchants bring to life the daily life of ancient civilizations. Themed camps, gastronomy inspired by ancestral flavors, and various entertainment activities complement an offer designed for all ages.
Although no significant Roman settlement remains have been found in Salir, the presence of this civilization is well documented in other areas of the municipality of Loulé, attesting to the relevance that the territory held during the Roman occupation.
