They told us that Lisbon was the centre of decisions and that the countryside was where no one wanted to know about us. They told us that Chopin liked mazurkas and that Messiaen cried with the birds. They told us that purple is the colour of the end of times. Now there are six of us here and we don’t know what will save us. But my mother knew how to spin very fast. And my grandfather hunted with one eye. This show won’t solve anything. It’s just an exercise to prevent the ground from disappearing.

“ROUXINOL, a Dance to Delay the End” is the first creation of AL JUVENIL - Contemporary Dance Company of the Algarve, an initiative of AORCA. It proposes a critical reflection on the body, its choreography, and the immaterial heritage of the Algarve region.

The project was the winner of the “Creation Structures Performance Grant” - 2025, an initiative of Rede Azul – Algarve Theatre Network.

Free parking - The Centro Cultural de Lagos and the Municipal Library of Lagos offer free parking at the Ribeirinha Front car park (Avenida dos Descobrimentos) for the audience of their shows/events. To receive the discount, simply present the stamp obtained at the ticket office of the Centro Cultural de Lagos or the entrance of the Municipal Library of Lagos at the reception of the car park. The offer applies only one hour before and up to one hour after each show/event.
