Winner of the Invitation to Creation of the aZul Network 2025

They told us that Lisbon was the centre of decisions and that the countryside was where no one cared about us. They told us that Chopin liked mazurkas and that Messiaen cried with the birds. They told us that purple is the colour of the end of times. Now there are six of us here and we don’t know what will save us. But my mother knew how to spin very fast. And my grandfather hunted with one eye.

This show will not solve anything. It is just an exercise to prevent the ground from disappearing.

"ROUXINOL, a ball to postpone the end!" is the first creation of AL JUVENIL - Contemporary Dance Company of the Algarve, an initiative of AORCA. It proposes a critical reflection on the body, its choreography, and the immaterial heritage of the Algarve region.
