Manuel Teixeira Gomes Literary Prize 2026

The Municipality of Portimão, through its Library, reestablishes the Manuel Teixeira Gomes Literary Prize, open to the novella category, aiming to encourage literary creation and honor the writer and President of the Republic whose life and work are closely linked to Portimão and the Algarve.

The works submitted, on a free theme, must be unpublished and written in Portuguese, with a maximum of 80 pages in A4 format, and can be entered by all national authors, citizens of Portuguese-speaking countries, or foreigners with regular residency status in the country.

The complete regulations will be available at the electronic address https://cm-portimao.pt/menus/servicos/biblioteca/premio-teixeira-gomes, where the form that competitors must fill out, including name, email address, identification number, NIF, and phone contact, pseudonym, and title of the respective work, can also be found. They must submit their works in PDF format between 10:00 AM on June 10, 2026, and 3:00 PM on July 10, 2026, Portugal Continental time.
