As part of Algarve All Jazz ’26, the Algarve Jazz Orchestra - conducted by Maestro and Trumpeter Hugo Alves - presents a Masterclass dedicated to the voice in jazz, led by acclaimed British singer Polly Gibbons, providing a unique opportunity for learning and direct contact with one of the most recognised voices in international jazz.

Throughout the session, essential topics for vocal and interpretative development will be covered, such as body and vocal warm-up, breathing techniques, choice of keys and repertoire, microphone usage, stage presence, phrasing, improvisation, and different technical and stylistic approaches to singing.

Taught in English, the Masterclass is aimed at singers, musicians, and students of artistic education who wish to deepen their knowledge and develop interpretative skills. The general public, aged 16 and over, is also invited to participate in this learning experience with one of the most recognised voices in international jazz.

Spaces are limited, but participation is free and requires direct registration with the Cultural Centre of Lagos.
