This event is part of the 5th edition of Pedra Dura – Algarve Dance Festival.
In “Melancholy”, Bruno Senune continues to explore a ritualised body that presents a mix of fragility and power, in an interdependent relationship with the sound produced by his body and interacting with the public space and passers-by, as centres generating new sensations. It is a ritual – fragile, numbed – developed as a survival strategy, through which Senune transforms in relation not only to the architectural space but also to the sensory environment, from which he establishes rhythms and small scores around specific moments and spaces. It is in this relationship of the body with the place that the choreographic score, conceived and pre-established, adapts, transforms, metamorphoses, and allows itself to be contaminated, in a weaving of sensations, adaptations, convocations, and evocations. Walking, melancholy as a motor, as joy, constructing an apotheotic poetics of breathing, of gradual understanding of formulating an anti-speed and slowness as possibilities for creation and encounter with the world, counter to everything that surrounds us and demands speed and productivity.
