Part of the 5th edition of Pedra Dura – Algarve Dance Festival.
A documentary produced by Onassis Culture, focusing on the performance “Transverse Orientation” by Dimitris Papaioannou.
Director Eva Stefani closely follows the preparations for Transverse Orientation and its tour through European theatres, observing the renowned Greek director and choreographer Dimitris Papaioannou and his team as they strive to bring the work to life. Through her lens, the documentary poses a central question: “Why do we do what we do?”, presenting art as an act of resistance against the ephemeral nature of life and as a means of attributing meaning to it. Inspired by the myth of the Minotaur, Transverse Orientation explores light as a guide, transcending linear narrative structures and questioning hierarchies, identity, and communication.
