Two average Portuguese men on stage discussing everyday matters. And peeking under the rug, indeed. Discoveries, right? And hiding, quirks, little quirks, big quirks, greatness, smallness, do you see the film? We are indeed a great small country, that’s the truth! Fried petinga and velvet gloves. Those who think one cannot be both one thing and its opposite are stuck in an office looking out at the street through a straw.
BIOGRAPHIES: Miguel Gouveia was born in Tirsense, with a pair of Duriense ribs, and has been telling and reading aloud since 2001, when small creatures dubbed him a teacher. In 2008, together with his partner, he founded Bruaá Editora and left teaching to become a master builder, dedicating himself full-time to editing, translating, reading aloud, and oral narration. As a sound reader, he presents “Reading Concerts” in libraries, schools, bookstores, associations, and festivals, a name borrowed from Brazilian writer Rubem Alves. As a storyteller, he works with a repertoire largely built from Portuguese oral tradition and personal collections. In recent years, he has been portraying the character of a bookseller at Bruaá/Livraria do Convento São Francisco in Coimbra.
Paulo Condessa follows a diet based on poetry and other literary proteins. He is a maestro of spoken words. He performs poetry shows, both solo and in groups. He is a poet and writer for both children and adults. He develops Creative Team Building actions and Motivational Talks, as well as workshops on cooperative creative reading and emotional intelligence. He caters to both playful and professional sides. He conceives or supports poetry festivals, trains and prepares reading teams. He has founded several poetic duos: O COPO (with poet Nuno Moura), Os Peixes Gémeos (with creative Afonso Azevedo), Dois Líricos (with guitarist Sérgio Correia), and Animal de Duas Pautas (with double bassist Miguel Calhaz). He has published 10 books and two plays.
Free parking - The Cultural Centre of Lagos and the Municipal Library of Lagos offer free parking at the Ribeirinha Front park (Avenida dos Descobrimentos) for the audience of their shows/events.
