Four experiences to discover the biodiversity of the Algarve through workshops and guided walks in rural landscapes.
Rural Landscapes and their Pollinators is a series of four activities dedicated to discovering the biodiversity of the rural landscapes of inland Algarve. Between a practical workshop and three field outings, participants are invited to observe pollinating insects, plants and other small inhabitants, and to understand the relationships between biodiversity, agriculture, water and traditional landscape structures.
The activities are led by Sérgio Henriques and João Ministro from Proactivetur and do not require prior knowledge.

Workshop: Building Bio-Habitats for Pollinators
[view activity] Garden of the QRER Building, Querença A practical workshop to learn about the insects that help keep many of our landscape plants alive and discover how materials such as cane, wood, clay, stone, bark and straw can serve as shelter for them. The group participates in the construction of a bio-habitat.

What Lives in the Dry Orchard? Field Trip at Nave do Barão
[view activity] Nave do Barão, Loulé A field trip to discover the biodiversity of traditional dry orchards and observe the relationship between ancient trees, cavities, vegetation, pollinating insects and other small inhabitants of this landscape.
