Bandua is a collaborative musical project between Luso-Brazilian musician and producer Bernardo D’Addario and Portuguese musician and singer Edgar Valente. Focused on linking Portuguese memory and culture with global and current musical trends, they create electronic music with place and roots, in a sonic wave situated between the digital and the organic, or technology and tradition, breaking down the boundaries between the countryside and the city, the past and the future, the local and the global.

In ‘BANDUA II’ - the album coming in 2026 - the duo begins a transhumance that departs from Beira Baixa and the downtempo that characterized the first album towards other bands, other paths, aiming to bring a broader representation of the multiculturalism that has always characterized Portuguese territory. D’Addario and Valente represent, in this sense, not only the heritage of a Portuguese ancestry that is the result of various cultural lineages but also members of a generation that aims to celebrate, absorb, and exude the vast plurality of global trends. If in ‘BANDUA’ the story focused on identity and interpretative aspects of a narrative that began by stating “It Was Like This,” in ‘BANDUA II’ the focus is on looking at the possibilities in what exists, with less romanticism and more reality, highlighting what, now, “Is Like This.”

An album that embeds in its foundation the need for acceptance of otherness over the preservation of identity. A revisit to the past, aiming to make music about the present, with ears set on the future.
