We believe that childhood is a foundation we walk on throughout our lives. It is evident that early victims – children whom the promotion and protection system deems should be removed from their biological families, often for their protection – carry the consequences of these adverse experiences for life. "What Happens in Childhood Doesn’t Stay in Childhood," published by Editora d’ Ideias, features 52 personalities connected personally or professionally to the protection of children and their healthy development, gathering a range of personal and multidisciplinary approaches that highlight the irreversible and lasting consequences of adverse childhood experiences. This work embodies a campaign aimed at preventing child maltreatment, initiated by PAJE – Platform for Supporting Young (Ex) Fostered Individuals in Portugal. This session will feature Catarina Silva Almeida, Rui Diniz Monteiro, Paulo Guerra, and João Pedro Gaspar.
