Jazz on The Move | Photography Exhibition | Cultural Centre of Lagos | Lagos

Launched in 2018 and renewed annually, this visual project gathers images captured during concerts, rehearsals, behind-the-scenes moments, and creative processes. Through photography, each musical moment transforms into a memory, revealing the energy of the stage, the concentration of the musicians, the camaraderie among artists, and the shared emotion with the audience.

Touring across the Algarve, the exhibition reinvents itself at each location - each space adds a new atmosphere and renews the dialogue between jazz, photography, and territory.

Under the Artistic Direction of Fátima Vargas, Jazz On The Move is a visual journey through the universe of the Algarve Jazz Orchestra that evolves each year. More than documenting the orchestra's activities, it seeks to reveal what music leaves in the gaze after the sound has ended. The exhibition is free to enter but subject to the opening hours of the host venue.
