The Gastronomic Brotherhood of the Sardine of Portimão will hold its IV Chapter on 26 September at the Auditorium of the Portimão Museum, from 17:00 to 18:30.
The ceremony will include the enthronement of four new members and the awarding of the title of Honourary Member to Joaquim Manuel, a master fisherman and a figure linked to the history and fishing tradition of Portimão.
The IV Chapter will also feature the presence of over 12 brotherhoods from across the country and will gather more than a hundred participants.
Entry to the ceremony is free.
Following the ceremony, there will be a traditional Chapter dinner, during which the “Portimão, Land of the Sardine” Awards will be presented for the first time, recognising individuals, entities, projects, and initiatives that contribute to the enhancement, defence, and promotion of the cultural, historical, environmental, and gastronomic heritage associated with sardines and fishing.
