Frankie Chavez

Frankie Chavez has established himself as one of the most exciting musicians of his generation since his debut in 2010. Inspired by Folk, Blues, and classic Rock, he has taken his music further, always rooted in the unique relationship he developed with his starting point: the guitar. His music blends different sound universes, a Blues/Folk that alternates between clean and raw, psychedelic environments. While influences from Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Kelly Joe Phelps, Ry Cooder, and Neil Young can be identified, it is difficult to define his music with a single term.
In 2017, he crossed paths with Pedro “Peixe” Cardoso, guitarist of Ornatos Violeta, leading to the creation of Miramar, an instrumental duo that has released two albums. In 2019, he was invited to compose for the Festival da Canção with the song “Mundo a Mudar”, which reached 4th place in the final.
In 2023, he released Alcântara, his first album with songs written in Portuguese, produced by Nuno Rafael (Sérgio Godinho and Humanos). In 2025, he released the single “Jogo do Empurra”, a tribute to Xutos & Pontapés, and returned to the studio to prepare new songs. In 2026, Frankie Chavez reissued “Family Tree” and celebrated the 15th anniversary of this iconic album with a new version of the track December 21st 2012 (duet with Tatanka), and performed in a special concert with guests Kalú, emmy Curl, and Tatanka. Simultaneously, he is working in the studio on a new album, with new songs to be revealed live at the Cineteatro Louletano concert.
