FolkFaro is the largest folklore festival in Southern Portugal and the only one in the Algarve with the international CIOFF seal. Organized by the Grupo Folclórico de Faro, with the main support of the Municipality, it takes place annually in the second half of August. The traditions of peoples from different latitudes, with their dances, songs, and costumes, are expressed in an atmosphere of peace and friendship. FolkFaro is one of the highlights of the cultural programming of the city and the region, involving activities such as: opening gala, decentralized shows, parades, street entertainment, dance workshops, children's and senior entertainment, among others.
