Algarve Iyengar Yoga Workshop Weekend with Rachel Lovegrove 23 - 25 April 2027We are delighted to welcome Rachel Lovegrove back to the warmth and quiet of the Algarve.

With Jayne Orton sadly unable to join us this time, we are thrilled that Rachel – one of Jayne’s own long-standing students – has stepped in to lead this weekend. Many of you will already know Rachel well. She once called the Algarve home, returns every year to teach her week-long yoga intensives here at Sol Viegas Yoga Studio, and is with us right now running another vibrant intensive. The Algarve is very much her home from home, and this studio, run by her best friend Sol, is one of her favourite places to teach.

Rachel is a Senior Level 3 Iyengar Yoga Teacher and Mentor with Iyengar Yoga UK, and has been teaching since 1998. She trained in the UK and in Pune, India, with BKS Iyengar, Geeta Iyengar and Prashant Iyengar, and later completed a three-year Iyengar Yoga Therapeutics course in California. She continues to study regularly with RIMYI teachers and her mentor, Jayne Orton as well as other senior Iyengar teachers.

Based in Hampshire, England, Rachel teaches weekly classes in person and online, runs workshops and private therapy sessions, and mentors trainee and qualified Iyengar teachers. She is the Director of IYOGA Fest, an annual Iyengar Yoga Festival in Southampton, and leads retreats each year in India, Portugal, Crete, Italy and Spain. She is known for her clear, pragmatic and supportive teaching, with plenty of individual attention so that every student can work safely and progress at their own level.

This weekend will be an all-levels programme of yoga asana and pranayama, a lovely chance to refresh your practice, deepen your breath and enjoy a sociable weekend with friends old and new. It is suitable for anyone with at least 9 months of regular Iyengar Yoga practice.

Location is Sol Viegas Yoga Studio, Quinta do Lago, Algarve. The studio is fully equipped with ropes and all the props needed. There are hotels and guest houses nearby; visit www.booking.com or www.airbnb.com for ideas. The nearest hotels are the Ria Park and the Magnolia.
