Festivities in Honor of Our Lady of Good Voyage

One of the most emblematic traditions of Alvor is back. The Festivities in Honor of Our Lady of Good Voyage, the patroness of sailors, once again gather the community around faith, traditions, and the community spirit that continues to mark the identity of the historic fishing village of Alvor.
The festivities open daily at 7:30 PM and include musical entertainment, dances, a fair, crafts, and gastronomy. The religious program culminates on August 16 with the Solemn Mass (3:30 PM), the Procession through the main streets of the village (5:00 PM), and the traditional Blessing of the Fishermen's Boats, one of the most significant moments of these festivities, with the image of Our Lady of Good Voyage sailing along the river of Alvor.
