Festival in Honor of Santo António – Marmelete, Monchique
From July 17 to 19, Marmelete hosts the traditional Festival in Honor of Santo António, a popular and religious celebration that brings together the community and visitors for a weekend of socializing, music, and tradition.
The program includes a fair, mass, processions, dances, musical performances, accordion, and folklore, in a typical Algarve festival atmosphere. The festivities begin on Friday with a dance by Cláudio Rosário and a performance by DJ Justt. On Saturday, highlights include the Candlelight Procession and a dance with Humberto Silva.
On Sunday, the festival takes on a more solemn character, with mass at 4:00 PM and a procession in honor of Santo António at 5:00 PM, accompanied by the Banda Filarmónica Lacobrigense 1.º de Maio. The afternoon continues with performances by the Grupo Somos do Alentejo, accordionist Martim Arcanjo, and the Rancho Folclórico Ladeira do Vau.
A festival full of tradition, music, and community spirit, in the heart of the parish of Marmelete, Monchique.
Organization: Fábrica da Igreja Paroquial de Marmelete.
