The Festa do Banho 29 celebrates one of the most emblematic and cherished traditions of the municipality of Lagos.
For generations, people from the inland would travel to the coast in groups, with their picnic baskets, donkeys, and carts, to fulfill the ritual and celebrate by the sea. Today, the tradition remains alive, bringing together residents and visitors for a night of socializing, music, and festivity, culminating in the long-awaited midnight dive.
In 2026, Lagos and Praia da Luz will come together again for a common celebration, but with distinct environments.
