The traditional Beach Fair returns to Vila Real de Santo António from 8 to 13 October 2026, bringing colour, flavours, and entertainment to the city.
The event takes place along Avenida da República, near the city wall and in Praça Marquês de Pombal, attracting thousands of visitors over six days. The day 12 October, a public holiday in Spain, is notable for the usual presence of numerous Spanish tourists who cross the border to visit the fair.
The venue offers a wide variety of themed areas: food and drinks, commerce, home textiles, decoration, crafts, clothing, confectionery, amusements, and a section dedicated to exhibitors and companies, ensuring options for all ages and tastes.
The Beach Fair is one of the oldest and most emblematic traditions of the municipality. Established in 1765 near the sands of Monte Gordo, it was moved in 1774 to the newly founded Vila Real de Santo António, becoming a space for social interaction and an economic driver for the region.
More than two centuries later, it continues to mark the cultural and commercial calendar of the municipality, preserving its historical identity and keeping the memory of its origins alive.
