Exhibition "WHAT WILL IT BE"

Espaço + will inaugurate the exhibition “What Will It Be” by Portuguese artist Miguel Laranjeira on 25th September at 17:30, open to the public until 30th October 2026, Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 16:30. Born in 1992, Miguel Laranjeira is a contemporary Portuguese painter currently dedicated to full-time artistic creation. His connection to painting began in adolescence and has been established through a unique language marked by expressiveness and exploration of the human figure. The exhibition results from a four-month immersion in Barcelona, where the artist attended the Barcelona Academy of Art, deepening his academic drawing, the study of form, light, and shadow. From this experience, the rigor of classical tradition intersects with a need for freedom and experimentation. “What Will It Be” — an expression that conveys doubt, expectation, and acceptance of what is yet to come — brings together academic studies of the human figure, where it is deconstructed through colour, line, and distortion, exploring the emotional and psychological dimension of the individual.

With solo exhibitions in Portugal and participation in national and international shows, including at the Van Der Plas Gallery in New York, Miguel Laranjeira presents in this exhibition a technique that transforms into a unique voice.
