Ethnobotany of Barrocal: Local Plants for Well-being, Natural Cosmetics, and Rituals
View original eventSource · Viral Agenda
How does a plant that grows in Barrocal become an essential oil, infusion, distillate, or maceration? In this training, you will start in the territory itself, recognising local plants and some of the knowledge associated with their uses, before learning about different methods of preparation and transformation. With André Mesquita and Patrícia Sacramento (Alambik), you will learn to distinguish hydrolates (distillates), essential oils, infusions, macerations, and other artisanal preparations.
- Includes a preliminary theoretical component (2 hours) aimed at conveying general knowledge and the theoretical foundations necessary for the practical component.
- In the practical component (5 hours), you will get to know and experience different distillates and essential oils and participate in the guided creation of a combination for cosmetic use or in well-being practices.
