1st Reading: New Golden Age explores the relationship between two sisters in an increasingly digital world. The theme, which offers a critical view of our digitalised society, is also suitable for a young audience.
This project celebrates the spoken word and the power of pure theatrical text. Through staged readings, workshops, and public meetings, the project returns the text to its central place — without the scenic apparatus, prioritising listening, presence, and the collective imagination. It is a space for experimentation between literature and theatre, where what is written comes back to life in the voices of the performers and the attentive audience.
Throughout each cycle, readings of contemporary and classic works, both national and international, are presented, with special attention to the visibility of new dramaturgies and female authors, through the New Female Authorship Dramaturgy Award. This Night We Shout is thus a gesture of poetic and civic resistance: a place where theatre returns to its origins — the oral sharing, the rite of the word, and human connection.
