“Tales in the Threshing Floor” – Oral Storytelling Performance

Tales in the Threshing Floor is an oral storytelling performance featuring traditional repertoire suitable for various audiences, contextualised for the time of year. It includes tales, rhymes, songs, riddles, prayers, and proverbs shared in an atmosphere reminiscent of old threshing floors.

The performance features a group of storytellers dedicated to the study, preservation, and promotion of Portuguese Oral Tradition. They have received appropriate and varied training in Oral Storytelling and other Artistic Expressions.

The main objective of this project, Tales in the Threshing Floor, is to contribute to the preservation of traditional Portuguese oral storytelling. The performance takes place in a setting made with old rural objects compatible with a threshing floor. Baskets, old blankets, and jugs are some of the essential accessories.
