The significance of writing throughout history is colossal. Precious information about past generations, in its multiplicity of perspectives, whether political, economic, or social, shapes the work of various historians across different fields of research. This conference will focus on writing in the municipality of Loulé during the Middle Ages, discussing not only the various officials of writing but also the types of writing, for whom it was written, and the vast typology of documents. We will attempt to glimpse the municipality of Loulé during this period, showing through the written texts what is most important in society: the lives of the people of Loulé.
