In music, a “classic” is a composition that stands out for its excellence and timelessness. In this sense, Algarve Camerata presents the 2nd edition of the Festival “Classic in Golden Frame,” which will carry out four concerts in the churches of the municipality of Lagos (Luz, São Sebastião, Odiáxere, and Bensafrim), with eclectic and broad programs over time, appealing to the whole family, both music lovers and novices. Integrating a soloist per concert, Algarve Camerata is mainly composed of local musicians, aiming to promote and decentralize culture and artistic values of the region, as well as the multiple expressions of art (painting, sculpture, and architecture) intrinsic to the temples where the performances will take place.

This concert traverses four very distinct languages, from Baroque to the 20th century, united by the idea of song and instrumental brilliance. Opening with Sheep May Safely Graze (Cantata BWV 208) by J. S. Bach offers a moment of serenity and purity, with Baroque elegance and an almost pastoral character. Next, Mozart's Clarinet Concerto takes center stage, highlighting the solo clarinet, performed by Tiago Santos, combining lightness and depth: cantabile lines, classical balance, and luminous expressiveness. Gustav Holst's Suite St. Paul brings rhythmic contrast and orchestral color, with a more modern and dance-like atmosphere, exploring textures and movements of marked character. The concert concludes with Vocalize, by Rachmaninoff, in a version for solo violin, a brief and intensely lyrical farewell, where the melody becomes pure emotion and closes the night with great beauty.
